FAQ: Can I use FTC Decarbonizer with Cleanpower or ULS Diesel Enhancer at the same time?
Yes! It’s a great idea to use FTC Decarbonizer and Cleanpower (or ULS Diesel Enhancer) together! They do different jobs, yet they work remarkably well together in overcoming many potentially costly engine problems – excessive exhaust smoke, engine blow-by, low performance/fuel mileage, etc. ULS Diesel Enhancer is a diesel-only formulation; not to be used in gasoline powered engines.

FTC Decarbonizer is added directly to the fuel tank (diesel or gasoline) at time of fill up.
It is recommended to use a ‘double dose’ for the first few tankfuls of fuel so that it can do a thorough job of oxidizing tough carbon deposits  in combustion areas as quickly and effectively as possible – this includes piston rings, ring grooves, exhaust valves, turbochargers, piston crowns, and deglazing cylinder bores. The amount or the severity of the hard carbon deposits will determine how quickly the oxidizing process takes – if there is not much carbon build up, the results will be achieved sooner than if there is a large amount of carbon build up to be oxidized. Every engine is different in this respect. Thereafter, the single dose rate can be used to continue to clean further deposits, and to keep the complete combustion area clean and working efficiently, particularly significantly reducing the production of engine-destroying soot. Continued use over time ensures maximum fuel efficiency and power, smooth engine operation, and less harmful emissions/exhaust smoke – all resulting in longer engine life and lower ongoing maintenance costs.

As a rule of thumb, and depending on the engine’s fuel consumption rate, the following is usually helpful in determining which size is most suitable for your application –

  • 16 fl oz of FTC Decarbonizer is usually enough to treat all small engines up to approximately 3.0 liter engine displacement (185 Cubic Inch) – passenger car, SUV, small tractor, or similar machines/boats etc.
  • 32 fl oz of FTC Decarbonizer is usually enough to treat all engines up to approximately 6.0 liter engine displacement (370 Cubic Inch) –  small to mid-size trucks, RVs, large gasoline engines, tractors, or similar machines/boats etc.
  • 64 fl oz of FTC Decarbonizer is usually enough to treat all engines up to approximately 9.0 liter engine displacement (550 Cubic Inch) – medium trucks, RVs, tractors, or similar machines/boats etc.
  • 1 gallon & 2 gallons of FTC Decarbonizer is usually enough to treat all engines over 9.0 liter engine displacement (over 550 Cubic Inch) – large trucks, tractors, other machine/boats etc.

Directions

Add directly to the fuel tank (gasoline or diesel) at time of fill up

  • Initial treatment rate 1:800
  • Thereafter 1:1600

All engines up to 8 liter/490 cubic inch engine capacity:

  • Add 1.6 fl oz per 10 gallons of fuel for the first few tankfuls of fuel (50 mL per 40 liters of fuel).
  • Thereafter. add 0.8 fl oz per 10 gallons of fuel (25 mL per 40 liters of fuel).

All engines over 8 liter/490 cubic inch engine capacity:

  • Add 16 fl oz per 100 gallons of fuel for the first few tankfuls of fuel (500 mL per 400 liters of fuel).
  • Thereafter, add 8 fl oz per 100 gallons of fuel (250 mL per 400 liters of fuel).
